Field to Fork Tour
On our educational initiative children from local primary schools spend the day with us and discover how salad travels from the field to their forks.
Children tour the farms and fields to learn about how salad is grown and packed. Our experts are ready to answer questions and explain every aspect of the business, including farming, manufacturing and our unique innovation kitchen.
At the end of the visit the children receive a free 'goody bag' to take home, which includes the salad they created in the innovation kitchen, a timeline of the field to fork process, salad and fruit recipe cards, a Natures Way Foods Fact card, an environmental fact sheet, a bug identification leaflet with a magnifying card and watercress seeds to grow at home.
The 'Field to Fork' tour was launched in June 2008 and is already proving extremely popular. The tour targets key areas of the National Curriculum such as Geography, Science, PHSD and Technology and also helps the schools achieve the Government's Healthy Schools Award.
