For Natures Way Foods People
One area of our Community Plan focuses on internal schemes for our employees.
With over 470 employees, each with individual interests and lifestyles, the plan needs to be varied and appealing. With this in mind we have launched a number of initiatives and below are just a few examples:
Healthy Heart Mark
The Healthy Heart Mark is an initiative run by Heart Research UK (HRUK) and is offered to businesses who take the health of their employees very seriously. The main focus is on achieving a ‘balanced lifestyle’. Natures Way Foods employees have been given the opportunity to have a free lifestyle assessment and receive advice from an HRUK lifestyle manager. In order to achieve Employer Heart Mark status HRUK also evaluates our current and planned initiatives and supports us in generating an action plan to deliver further improvements. This is an on-going process and Natures Way Foods is very proud to be taking part.
Going Green
We encourage our staff to be as ‘green’ as possible by focusing on small internal initiatives such as switching off lights and computers when they are not in use. Small changes have big longer term impacts so we aim to focus on changing habits and perceptions by creating easy and practical initiatives that can be taken home (e.g. Recycling paper waste). We use our current facilities as much as possible and coordinate with local schemes wherever we can.
Employees in the Community
At Natures Way Foods we are also committed to involving employees in our Community Plan. One initiative is offering every full time employee the opportunity to spend one working day out in the community as a Volunteer. Not only does this bring them great satisfaction, but enables us to contribute in many different and worthwhile projects such as:
- Beach sweeps
- Conservation week
- Local events
- Wildlife conservation
From Dragon Flies to Water Voles
We know that our business has an impact on the surrounding environment, which is why we have on going projects focusing on minimising this and conserving the natural habitat of the local wildlife....
