  • Oranges originate from Asia and were introduced into Europe in the 15th Century. They are a non-climateric fruit, which means once they are harvested the maturity will not change.
  • Pineapple, a member of the Cacti family, takes 18 months to grow and is made up of hundreds of individual fruits. Golden pineapple is higher in vitamin C than any other pineapple.
  • Mangos are a climateric fruit and can be harvested slightly immature, so they can be ripened to guarantee the optimum eating experience. They take 90 days to form fruits from flowering and are a good source of vitamin E and folic acid. Mangos contain enzymes, which are used to marinate and tenderise meat.
