23.07.08 | Chichester Triathlon 2008 - Sponsored by Natures Way Foods

It was an early start at 7am for all, but on Sunday 20th July over 200 competitors racked their bikes and de-fogged their goggles ready for the 2nd Chichester Triathlon.

The event, organised by Chichester District Council and held at the Westgate Leisure Centre, consisted of a 600 metre swim followed by a 42Km bike ride and finished off with a 10Km run. The triathlon was then followed by the 1st Junior Aquathon for children aged 8 to 16 years.

This year saw some of our own employees finally bring an end to their months of gruelling training to successfully complete the course. They were cheered on by Natures Way Foods volunteers, who had battled against the wind to erect a marquee from which a fantastic selection of free salad and fruit samples were tasted by spectators and competitors.

Whether you were a seasoned triathlete, doing it for the 1st time or simply cheering from the side lines the triathlon was a fantastic experience and a great opportunity to get involved with a local sporting event.
