Natures Way Foods welcomed Inske De Winne, from Hogeschool Gent University, Belgium to join the Communications Team. Inske is in her final year studying her Business Management degree and took the opportunity to come over to Natures Way Foods in Chichester, West Sussex to gain valuable work experience and to write her dissertation.

Inske’s dissertation objective was to review the current internal communications channels and find recommendations to help us continuously improve them. The aim is to ensure employees are getting the right messages but also to raise engagement and interest. It was important to us to have an objective, third party person to conduct the audit using quantitative and qualitative data.

We asked Inske to tell us a bit more about her experience at Natures Way Foods.

I have definitely pushed myself out of my comfort zone which has made me more confident on a personal and professional level. I have also learned so much about Natures Way Foods thanks to the many conversations I have had with the employees here. Looking back this has been a super rewarding and enjoyable experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Inske De Winne, Intern

"Thanks to Stephanie and Hannah’s tremendous support throughout this whole project. I learned to think much more positively and to see problems as challenges that can be overcome with hard work and perseverance!

Lastly, I would also like to thank everyone else who helped me out at Natures Way Foods and for making this internship such a great experience!”

Hosting Inske for three months was a great experience for us. It was a privilege to see Inske's confidence grow. It can be extremely daunting for a student to come into the working environment for the first time, especially with English as a second language. Inske allowed us to carry out valuable research and gather feedback on the effectiveness of our internal communications plan. The audit identified a number of recommendations and we have already implemented some of these ideas.
